Data Migration Data Migration Overview The transfers your company data into the Core database with just a few clicks. If you are an existing BQE customer, this on-premises data migrator tool can move your existing 2017 or 2018 BillQuick and ArchiOffice/EngineerOffice data to the cloud. Only the Core user having an Owner is a special administrator who creates the Core account and has full security permissions.

The owner can add more users and companies to the account. Account can log into the migrator and use it. For BillQuick Online and ArchiOffice/EngineerOffice Online users, you are provided with an option 'Migrate to Core' on the top-right of your application, which allows you to move your existing online data to Core.

The entire data migration process is automatic, with no download or installation required at your end. Your login credentials will also be the same as the older online account. As a best practice, we recommend running all the Optimize database utilities in your legacy software prior to data migration. During the migration process, the physical documents that are linked as attachments to your existing records are moved to Core’s cloud document servers and hosted there during your trial (up to 2 GB is hosted but if you require more storage, please contact ).

If you have archived your data, you need to restore it prior to migration, if you need that data in Core. Check out the best practices and for more. Note: This tool is not compatible with 2016 or older products and you cannot run it on Mac systems. In addition, the migrator tool is not compatible with Microsoft Access databases, so you have to upsize your Microsoft Access database to Microsoft SQL Server (2005 or later) prior to using the tool. In any case, if you prefer BQE to handle this data migration for you, our can do it at a nominal charge.

Data Mapping Your data is stored in various tables in your existing BillQuick/ArchiOffice/EngineerOffice database. There are many data fields in these software that do not have equivalent fields in Core, or vice versa. Therefore, this migration process involves creating calculated fields using the individual SQL statements and defining calculated columns for the purpose of data mapping.

After the data migration process, that data gets transferred to the new Core database. Below is a list of data tables and mappings that show the flow of data from your old database to the new one in Core. You can find data mappings for only the main screens and tables here; for detailed data mappings, please check out our. If you are a Mac user, ArchiOffice could be a good product for you. I can't get inside information but I think they aren't releasing a Vista compatible product until 3Q 2008 which clues you in to the value they assign to the Windows environment.

The ArchiOffice forum has very little action and does not appear to be monitored by ArchiOffice staff. They published a manual a year ago and have not upgraded it to include changes made to their program since then. Their manual references Office 2003 products, not Office 2007. This is unfortunate as the world is moving to 2007 where there are more great features and it works very differently than Office 2003. I would carefully research what they are selling now and how much an upgrade will cost you in the future - when they finally release a Vista compatible product. Right now, their program interfaces to FileMaker Pro.

I've heard they are writing their own code and won't be using FileMakerPro when the Vista software releases. Check pricing, setup, upgrade costs, training, etc. It's not a cheap investment but well worth it if the technology it offers solves your problems.
